Body odor is the term referred to any kind of unpleasant smell associated with an individual’s body. The condition that causes body odor is hyperhidrosis.The body odor is strongly associated with the emission from our sweat glands.

Causes of Body Odor

  • Bacteria present in the sweat
  • Strong medicines

  • Diseases, like kidney problems, liver problems etc

  • Gastrointestinal problems

  • Certain foods and beverages, like hot beverages, spicy foods, etc
  • Menopause

  • Overactive thyroid or hyperthyroidism
Home Remedies for Body Odor

  • Drink one cup of tomato juice everyday for 1 week. The following week, Drink 1 cup of the juice, every other day. Then drink when needed.
  • Spray deodorant or talc after shower.
  • Scrub your body with some chamomile oil
  • Soak cotton wool pads in baking soda and powder the underarms.
  • Apply apple cider vinegar to eliminate under arm body odor.
  • Mexican med for body odor:Mix some baking soda with lemon juice. Rub mixture on underarms.
  • Use baby wipes to clean the underarms.
  • Apply some lemon juice on underarms after you get out of the shower to prevent the body odor.
  • Natural remedy for body odor: Put 10 drops of the essential oil in 30 mm of water and apply on the underarms.
  • Slice a potato and wipe it under each clean and dry underarm a few times. Wait for it to dry and then apply deodorant.
  • Mash 1 big piece of ginger, put it in a handkerchief. Apply on the underarms with a cotton ball, after shower.
  • To prevent body odor, drink a glass of water in the morning, on an empty stomach, along with 500 mg wheat grass. The chlorophyll present in the grass will help in reducing body odor.
  • Prepare a homemade deodorant with the juice of about two dozen radishes and 1/4 teaspoon glycerin. Mix the liquids well and pour into a spray-top bottle. Spray this in the armpits to fight body odor. Remember to store it in fridge.
  • Turnip juice is also effective in removing body odor. Grate a turnip and squeeze the grated pieces to extract the juice. Apply this juice on your underarms.
